Our vision is to create a nationally televised talk show/open
forum that is unique and provides MILLIONS OF VOICES
from this younger generation an opportunity to have a positive
platform where they can have an opportunity to voice their opinions
on various political and social issues affecting our generation!
Purpose
The specific purpose of the show is to provide emerging leaders
of Generation X and Y a place where they can empower, enlighten,
and educate their audience on relevant political and social
issues and allow MILLONS OF VOICES from this
younger generation an opportunity to voice their opinions on
various political and social issues of our day!
History
Speak On It originally began on the campus
of the California State University of Long Beach months before
the 2004 presidential election three years ago. The purpose
of the show was to fill a void in the political and social involvement
of various students across the country by providing the students
at Long Beach State University with an opportunity to voice
their opinions on specific political and social issues leading
up to the 2004 elections.
Following this successful televised talk show/open forum, Host
and Executive Producer, Joshua Fredenburg decided to continue
pursuing this much needed vision by producing three shows every
first Saturday of the month in a community studio in Long Beach,
California. Over a three year span, the show has expanded into
ten cities across the countries which are New York, NY, Boston,
MA, Washington DC, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, Chicago,
Ill, Berkeley, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Long Beach, CA. Each
city has responded very positively to this engaging discussion
on various political and social issues affecting Generations
X and Y.
In addition to these in studio tapings every month, Joshua
has also continued to produce live shows on various college
campuses in Southern California over this three year span. For
instance, in 2005, Speak On It revisited the California State
University of Long Beach and held another life changing event
on the Leadership In America from this younger generations perspective.
Following this enlightening show in 2005, in 2006 continued
to expand and prosper by traveling to the University of Redlands
to talk about Interracial Relationships In America the first
semester and then traveling to USC to do a live discussion on
Hip Hop and Politics the second semester of the year. Thankfully,
each of the productions at the different colleges were enlightening,
impactful, educating, and inspirational to all the people that
have had an opportunity to be in attendance at these Speak On
It Remotes on college campuses in Southern California. Each
show also provided several positive comments from various viewers
that had a chance to see the show in the ten different cities
across the country.
Over the next few years, Speak On It plans to visit more colleges
nationally, increase visibility nationally on teleivision and
worldwide on line, and to increase the desire for more young
people across America to become more politically and socially
involved with issues affecting our Generation!
